Garden & Pest Control Products

Arsenicals (contain lead arsenic), Botanicals (made of plants). Carbonates, Chlorinated Hydrocarbons, Fungicides, Herbicides, Pesticides/Household Insecticides, Organo-Phosphates, Rat and Mice Poisons, Roach and Ant Killers, including in all Aerosol Cans.

Household Products

Abrasive Cleaners or Powders, Ammonia Based Cleaners, Batteries, Bleach Cleaners, Disinfectants, Drain Cleaners, Floor and Furniture Cleaners, Florescent Light Bulbs, Mothballs, Oven Cleaners, Photographic Chemicals, Pool Chemicals, Rug and Upholstery Cleaners, Toilet Cleaners, including all in Aerosol Cans.

Paint & Finishing Products

Enamel or Oil Based Paints, Furniture Strippers, Latex Paints, Rust Paints, Stains/Finishes, Thinners and Turpentine, Wood Preservatives, including all in Aerosol Cans.

What Not to Bring

Unknown Materials (no labels); Ammunition, Asbestos; Medical Waste. Polychlorinated biphenyls  (PCBs); Radioactive Waste.

Before Bringing Products to Collection Site

  • Check Containers- Make sure lids are tight.
  • Make sure products are labeled. No unknowns!
  • Wrap leaking or dirty individual containers in a clear plastic bag and pack each item in a larger container with absorbent material, such as "kitty litter" to soak up leaks.
  • Transport the materials in your vehicle.

Each participant will be limited to 80 pounds or 5 gallons of liquid waste per residential household visit unless prior arrangements have been made.
