Fire / EMS Stand-By Rates

History
The Emporia fire service originated with the volunteer bucket brigade, followed shortly thereafter by hand-pulled hose carts. Learn more about our department's history and how we got to where we are today.

Fire Stations
The City of Emporia has two fire stations: Station 1 located at the Civic Auditorium and Station 2 located at 15th Avenue and Industrial Road.

Personnel
The Department currently consists of 53 full time employees, up to 6 part time employees, and as many as 14 volunteer firefighters. Full time employees are divided into Fire and Code Enforcement personnel, as well as staff versus line positions.
