Alcoholic Beverage License and Fees
Any business or club that desires to sell any cereal malt beverage or alcoholic beverage within Emporia must be licensed to do so. There are also restrictions on where and when these beverages may be sold and consumed.

Public Notices
Public Hearings are held by the City Council and the Planning Commission as needed. The purpose of a Public Hearing is to present information to and solicit input from the general public regarding certain civic issues.

Ordinances are the most formal acts taken by the governing body and have full force and effect of law.

A Resolution is a formal decision of the governing body that is submitted in writing due to its importance or length.

Request for Records
The Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) requires that documents and materials that fall within KORA’s definition of “public records” shall be open for inspection by any person unless specifically directed otherwise by law.
